OHP has been in the business of supplying solutions to production ornamental growers for more than 30 years. One of the main objectives has been to focus on ornamental growers. Part of that focus includes day-to-day contact with growers, whether on a visit to their greenhouse or nursery, or at a trade show.

Listening to the grower discuss his or her problems leads OHP to many opportunities.

Recently the grower community has been moving toward more edible crop production, including vegetables and herbs. OHP listened and launched the BioSolutions line of products.

OHP BioSolution products have broad labels, are labeled for use in organic production and most have OMRI listing. This also means the products can be used up until the day of harvest.

While these products fit the growing edibles market, they are also great tools for traditional production such as bedding plants or woody ornamentals.

A great example would be the use of OHP’s biofungicide Triathlon® BA. Triathlon BA is derived from a naturally occurring Bacillus amyloliquefaciens strain D747. These beneficial bacteria not only colonize the root zone of plants to prevent occupation by the bad boys like Pythium and Phytophthora root rots, but Triathlon BA’s unique formulation also releases lipid biopeptides once in spray solution. These biopeptides kill resting bacterial and fungal spores on the surfaces of plants. By treating plugs or cuttings in their shipment trays, growers save time, labor and, most importantly, get their plants off to a great start.
